Enabling Our Children To Achieve

Welcome

Reception – RJT & RHF (September 2022)

Welcome back to a new term! The children have been introduced to our topic of ‘Places’ and have begun to enjoy the activities.  Please find attached to this letter an overview of our topic, a copy of which is also on our outside noticeboard.

Also on the noticeboard you will find some suggestions for fun activities that will support your child’s learning at home.

Please be aware that we will continue to give homework on a weekly basis via GOOGLE CLASSROOM.         The homework is set on a Friday and is due in no later than the following Wednesday morning.  We expect the homework to be completed every week by your child and handed in on time.  The homework given is to consolidate the learning that has taken place within the classroom and children really enjoy sharing their work with the other children.

If you have any difficulty with submitting the homework, please email us at: Foundation@nortonroadprimary.co.uk or speak to your child’s teacher.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your ongoing support and look forward to a successful term.

Dear Parents/Carers

Welcome back to a new term! The children have been introduced to our topic of ‘Animals and Minibeasts’ and have begun to enjoy the activities.  Please find attached to this letter an overview of our topic, a copy of which is also on our outside noticeboard.

Also on the noticeboard you will find some suggestions for fun activities that will support your child’s learning at home.

Please also be aware that Bug Club and Doodle Maths continue to be available for all children to access.  Login details have been provided previously but if you have any issues with logging on, please contact us via email at: Foundation@nortonroadprimary.co.uk.  We monitor when the children access these platforms and we expect children to access these regularly.

P.E. will now be on a FRIDAY for both PUFFINS AND PENGUINS.  Please ensure your child is wearing the correct P.E. kit on FRIDAYS, including taping or removing earrings.

If you have any questions, please speak to your child’s class teacher.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Welcome to Puffin and Penguin Class!

Our topic this term is ‘Me’.  This includes learning lots about our bodies (including senses, bones, healthy eating, keeping safe and exercise) as well as seeing how we have grown and comparing baby photos to photos of us now.  We will also be finding out about our families and exploring different cultures and beliefs. We will be thinking about people who help us such as doctors, dentists, teachers and the police and will becoming superheroes, thinking about the superpowers we have!

Reminders:

  • Learning Log work will be set on a Friday via Google Classroom.  This will need to be completed and sent back via Google Classroom by the next Wednesday.  Learning Logs will be sent out after the October half term.
  • Bug club and doodle maths Please look out for the login details for Bug Club and Doodle Maths.  These will be sent out after the October half term.
  • P.E. days:  Penguin P.E. day is Thursday and Puffin P.E. day is Friday.  Please send your child to school in P. E. kits on these days and ensure earrings are removed or taped up.

Parents, please take time to look at our information boards outside the classrooms.  They explain the Foundation Curriculum and how children learn as well as introducing the ‘Characteristics of Learning’.  There are also ideas on how you can support your child at home.
